Webinar Summary:
This webinar for organic certifiers and inspectors will explore the handling materials on the National List at §205.605 and §205.606. What is attapulgite, anyway?? Speaker Jessica Walden will select materials that are commonly used in organic processing and/or that have complicated National List Annotations. Their roles in food processing will be explored in order to increase contextual awareness and recollection of important annotation concepts.
Jessica Walden, Senior Review and Policy Specialist at Quality Assurance International, has worked in the organic industry since 1996. She worked for two years as a Material Specialist at the National Organic Program in the Standards Division, where she reviewed materials that are used or petitioned for use in organic production and handling. Jessica has also served on the Processor Review Panel for the Organic Materials Review Institute.
